| In Cap-Haitien, an area in Northern Haiti, the Haitian Education Project (HEP) is working to improve lives. It is our objective to develop a series of agricultural projects focused on sustainability and the promotion of self-sufficiency. |

In 2009, HEP began an Agricultural pilot project in Cap-Haitien, planting over 500 banana trees for Marie Port du Ciel Orphanage. This year HEP will continue its efforts at the Orphanage by planting various vegetables and herbs. This initiative will develop into larger projects throughout Cap-Haitien operated through a partnership between HEP, Fondation Vincent’s Agricultural School, and local workers. |  |
| HEP’s Agricultural Project will develop the local food market, decrease costly importing, and promote economic growth in the community. |
